AgriVijana Loan economically empowering Kenyan youth through agribusiness

For a long time the youth have been having trouble securing capital to start up their businesses. The problem has always been lack of collateral twhen applying for a loan.

This is now a thing of the past thanks to the youth entreprise development over 5,000 youths are set to benefit from a tailor made Agricultural loan courtesy of the Youth Enterprise Development fund (YEDF) and Amiran Kenya limited.

The Loan dubbed the “Agri-Vijana Loan” will be provided to Youth groups across the country to buy a complete farmers kit from Amiran Kenya which will include two green houses, a drip irrigation system, 400m of open field, water tank, plant support system and seeds.

Apart from that the kit also comes with fertilizer and crop protection products for one season, farmers spray, nursery set, health and safety protection gear, specialized training in farming, Agro-support and an AFK insurance.

YEDF have  set aside Ksh 150 million for the purchase of 420 green houses all over the country. They plan  to help purchase two green houses per constituency all over the country.

The Agri-Vijana loan is aimed at promoting Youth Enterprises and putting to an end the perception that farming is for retirees.

I want to urge the youth acros the Country to take advantage of this amazing offer.

Thanks in advance for this. Many of able youths some even graduates are being “robbed of their skills.” Imagine a graduate being paid less than 10k a month! Am sure this will empower youths fight poverty as well as job creation.

  2. does the loan include dairy farming? Am interested in commercial dairy farming
